Packers win 800th game all-time, extend home opener win streak to 12

The Green Bay Packers not only won their 800th game all-time but also extended the team’s near historic home opener win streak to 12 games with Sunday’s 16-10 victory over the Indianapolis Colts at Lambeau Field.

The Packers are the first team in NFL history to 800 wins. The only other teams with 700 or more wins are the Chicago Bears (793) and New York Giants (721). While the Bears were the first team to 700 wins, the Packers caught up in a hurry. By the time the Packers got to 700 wins, the Bears were already at 732 — but the Packers still won the race to 800.

The Packers’ all-time record is now 800-599-38. Their win percentage ranks second all-time to only the Dallas Cowboys.

Sunday’s win was also the Packers’ 12th straight win in home openers dating back to 2013. It’s the longest current streak in the NFL by a wide margin and the second longest streak of all-time. The last time the Packers lost the team’s first home game was 2012 (San Francisco 49ers). Since then, the Packers have home opener wins over Washington (2013), New York Jets (2014), Seattle Seahawks (2015), Detroit Lions (2016), Seahawks (2017), Chicago Bears (2018), Minnesota Vikings (2019), Detroit Lions (2020), Lions (2021), Bears (2022), New Orleans Saints (2023) and Colts (2024).

The NFL record for consecutive home opener wins is 13, set by the Miami Dolphins between 1976 and 1988, per Wes Hodkiewicz of Packers.com .

Can the Packers win the race to 900 wins? The Bears and Giants are the only real competitors. And who will the Packers play in the home opener in 2025? A chance to run the streak to a record-tying 13 awaits next year.
