Giants claim former Eagles pass rusher off waivers ahead of Week 3

Patrick Johnson stays in the NFC East after the New York Giants claimed the former Eagles pass rusher off waivers on Tuesday.

A star at Tulane, Johnson was selected in the seventh round with the 234th overall pick of the 2021 NFL draft by Philadelphia, but he was waived on Monday.

The athletic linebacker could be a plug-and-play addition for a Giants roster lacking pressure off the edge.

Johnson played four seasons for the Eagles, logging 23 solo tackles, 12 assists, and one fumble recovery.
