The top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs (3-0, 1-0 SEC) travel to meet the 4th-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide (3-0, 0-0) Saturday in a conference game at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (ABC/ESPN+). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Georgia vs. Alabama odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Bulldogs hit the road for Tuscaloosa looking to solve the problem that has been the Crimson Tide. Alabama leads the all-time series 43-26-4, with the Tide winning 8 of the past 9 meetings. That includes the CFP National Championship Game in Atlanta Jan. 8, 2018, a 26-23 win by the Tide.

Georgia’s only victory in the past 9 tries against Alabama came in the CFP National Championship Game in Indianapolis Jan. 10, 2022, a 33-18 victory. The teams have met 4 times in the past 12 years since Dec. 1, 2012, in the SEC Championship Game, with the Tide winning each of those outings.

The Bulldogs are coming off a 13-12 victory at Kentucky last time out on Sept. 14, but it obviously came nowhere near covering as a 21.5-point favorite as the Under (45) cashed. The Under is 3-0 in 3 tries, with the defense allowing just 6 FGs and 0 TDs all season.

The Crimson Tide had a game similar to the Georgia game at Kentucky. Alabama had its hands full with USF of all teams. On Sept. 7, Bama led just 21-16 with 5:50 to go before pulling away with 3 TDs to make it 42-16.

Georgia at Alabama picks and predictions

    Prediction

    Georgia 26, Alabama 20

GEORGIA (-115) is worth a look in this road battle. The Bulldogs have lost 8 of the past 9 games in this series, but they’re the better team here.

While Georgia struggled mightily at Kentucky, QB Carson Beck should come back strong, and the Bulldogs defense should be able to slow QB Jalen Milroe.

The coaching scales are tipped in UGA’s favor, too, as Kalen DeBoer gets his first taste of this ultra-intense rivalry, and it will be too much against Kirby Smart in his first go-around.

Don’t risk pushing on Georgia -1 (-110) just to save the 5 cents.

    AVOID.

UNDER 49.5 (-110) is the lean based on the defense of Georgia.

Alabama cashed the Over in a 42-10 spanking of Wisconsin on the road, no less. The Tide have scored 42 or more points in all 3 games to date, but they haven’t faced the likes of the Bulldogs defense. In fact, they’ve seen nothing even close. Not many have.

Georgia will give up its 1st TD, but points should still be at a premium in this titanic matchup. Go low.
