Some thought LSU could be facing a trap game with a red-hot South Alabama offense coming to town, but instead, the Tigers played their most complete game of the season.

They came out of the gate strong, jumping out to a 21-0 first-quarter lead, and they ultimately pulled away to win comfortably 42-10 as the defense played lockdown football aside from one drive in the third quarter and the offense led a balanced attack thanks to a breakout game from freshman running back Caden Durham.

It was the kind of performance LSU wanted to see heading into its bye week before the meat of SEC play begins with a home contest against Ole Miss, which looks much more winnable after the Rebels lost to Kentucky.
