Michigan football and the uneven performances caught up to it when it went on the road in Week 6 to face a hungry Washington team.

The Wolverines made yet another quarterback change, switching from Alex Orji after a couple series in favor of now-healthy seventh year signal caller Jack Tuttle — who may have started at the outset of the season if he was healthy. But the results were the same — scant passing and turnover problems.

Michigan had one of the best wins in college football, but with USC losing to unranked Minnesota and the Wolverines’ own loss to unranked Washington to fall to 4-2, they were bound to fall in the eyes of the coaches.

As a result, Michigan fell in the Week 6 US LBM Coaches Poll, moving from No. 10 to No. 21. Texas is ranked No. 1, USC is fell out and three future opponents also are ranked: Illinois is No. 23, Indiana is No. 20, Oregon is No. 3 and Ohio State is No. 2.

They tried keeping Michigan relevant. 8-4 at best. Got a gift from home cooking refs against Minnesota and usc.
