Colts CB Kenny Moore, DE Kwity Paye back at practice Wednesday

Some more good news for the Indianapolis Colts, who have been dealing with a number of injuries in recent weeks, was that cornerback Kenny Moore and defensive end Kwity Paye were both back at practice on Wednesday, according to The Athletic’s James Boyd.

Both players exited the Colts’ Week 3 win over the Chicago Bears in the fourth quarter–Moore with a hip injury and Paye with a quad injury. Neither player has practiced since then, and both have missed the last two games.

At both cornerback and defensive end, the Colts depth is very much being tested these last few weeks.

With Moore sidelined, Chris Lammons took the nickel snaps and Sam Womack was the primary boundary defender when the Colts were lined up in their base 4-3 defense.

Lammons has been targeted often in these two games, allowing nine completions on 10 targets for 122 yards. The pass rush, meanwhile, suffered mightily this past week without Paye, Tyquan Lewis, nor DeForest Buckner.

According to PFF, Trevor Lawrence was pressured just once the entire game, and with time in the pocket, picked a part the Colts’ secondary, averaging nearly 11.0 yards per pass attempt.

The first injury report of the week will be released Wednesday afternoon, at which time we will see if Moore and Paye were limited or full participants.

At this time, it’s likely too early to know what the status for each player will be for Sunday’s game in Tennessee, but nonetheless, having both back on the practice field is certainly a good thin.
