The New England Patriots will roll out the red carpet for a clash with the Houston Texans on Sunday. It’ll be a game where Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye will make his first official NFL start.

The Patriots will be looking to snap a four-game losing streak and create some positive momentum after a 1-4 start to the season.

They fell in defeat to the Miami Dolphins by a 15-10 margin last week. The offense struggled in that game with quarterback Jacoby Brissett going 18-of-34 passing for 160 yards.

The Patriots had 151 yards on the ground, including 89 rushing yards from Rhamondre Stevenson. DeMario Douglas led the team in receiving with six catches for 59 yards.

Meanwhile, the Texans are coming off a 23-20 win over the Buffalo Bills last Sunday. Quarterback C.J. Stroud had another strong game, as he threw for 331 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Stefon Diggs had a standout performance against his former team with six catches for a team-high 82 yards.

Special teams were an underrated part of the Texans’ win as well. Ka’imi Fairbairn made all three of his field goals and both of his extra points. He came through for Houston in critical moments.

The Patriots lead the all-time series against the Texans by an 11-3 margin. They won the last matchup between the two teams by a 25-22 score back in 2021.

The Patriots are still searching for their offensive identity and are turning to their rookie quarterback to right the ship. The Texans have found their superstar at quarterback, and they have surrounded him with elite talent on their roster.

Who do you have winning Sunday’s game? Make sure to vote in the poll below.
