Saturday was a great day for Texas Longhorns everywhere. After crushing Red River rival Oklahoma 34-3 in the afternoon, many Texas fans celebrated deep into the night.

The Austin City Limits Music Festival traditionally takes place over two weekends in Zilker Park. The second typically falls during Texas-Oklahoma weekend. Each year, fans gather to watch the Red River Rivalry in the ‘Big Tent’ next to the Miller Lite stage before returning to the music.

A few hours after the game, with fans already in a frenzy, headliner Dua Lipa thrilled the crowd with more than her music.

The English-Albanian pop star closed out Weekend 2 of ACL on the American Express Stage by donning a personalized “Lipa” No. 1 Texas Longhorns jersey as the festivalgoers roared with approval.

In addition to Lipa, ACL included Chris Stapleton, Blink-182, Norah Jones, Reneé Rapp, Benson Boone, Tyler, the Creator, and Chappell Roan.

“What do you think?” she asked the Zilker Park crowd. “See how loyal I am to you guys? That’s how much I love it here.”

After showing off the jersey, Lipa played her song “Be the One.”

“I love spending time and enjoying the city and getting to know it,” Lipa said. “The drinks are good and the food is good and the vibes are amazing.”

According to KVUE-TV in Austin, Lipa has been showing up at different spots around Austin. Last Friday, before her Weekend 1 performance, she visited East Austin barbecue spot La Barbecue and made a viral TikTok video with a personal drink recipe – Diet Coke, pickle juice and jalapeño juice.

Lipa also visited Mexican seafood restaurant Este and posed for a photo with the restaurant’s staff.

Lipa also hit the historic South Lamar honky-tonk Broken Spoke for some two-steppin’. “HONKY TONK HEAVEN,” she said.

Austin played a big part in the early stages Lipa’s career. The emerging pop star played at South by Southwest in 2016. At that time, the singer was about to release her debut self-titled album. In an interview at the time, Lipa discussed how much she enjoyed the city.
