5-star DL Elijah Griffin sets commitment date

Five-star defensive line recruit Elijah Griffin will announce his commitment on Friday, Oct. 18 at 1:20 p.m. ET from Savannah Christian Prep, which is his high school.

Griffin announced his commitment date shortly after visiting the Georgia Bulldogs for the Mississippi State game. The 6-foot-5, 285 pound defensive lineman will decide among Georgia, USC and Miami on Friday. Griffin is projected to commit to UGA, per 247Sports.

The Georgia Bulldogs and head coach Kirby Smart have nation’s fifth-best recruiting class in the 2025 cycle, but Georgia has room to improve. Landing Griffin would go a long way in the Dawgs’ quest to secure the nation’s top recruiting class.

Griffin has elite production with 35.5 career sacks at the high school level. The Savannah, Georgia, product is ranked as the top defensive lineman in the nation and No. 4 recruit in the country. Griffin is the top recruit in the Peach State and is a massive in-state priority for Kirby Smart and UGA.

Georgia is always looking to win the battle in the trenches and Griffin be a difference-maker for Georgia in the future.

Three-star Georgia defensive line commitment Stephon Shivers recently reopened his recruitment, so Griffin could help fill a void in UGA’s 2025 recruiting class. Georgia football’s most recent commitment is from four-star running back Ousmane Kromah.
