The No. 4 Georgia Bulldogs face No. 1 Texas Longhorns in a clash for SEC supremacy. The Georgia-Texas game is at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19 and will be televised for a national audience on ABC.

ESPN’s “College GameDay” is in town for the Georgia-Texas game. Georgia is underdogs for the first time in a since the 2021 national championship game against Alabama. The Bulldogs may use their underdog status as fuel. Georgia, who already has a loss this season, may be a little more motivated to perform than Texas, who is undefeated.

However, Georgia will face a huge challenge on the road. Texas is a well-rounded team with no apparent weaknesses.

UGA football is 3-5 in school history against the No. 1 ranked team in the country, but Georgia is 2-1 against the No. 1 team under Kirby Smart.

How has Georgia performed against the best team in the country over the years?

Georgia’s win over Florida prevented the Gators from having a chance to win a national championship even though Florida was on probation (no SEC championship, no television, and no bowl game).

    Nov. 2, 1996: No. 1 Florida 47, Georgia 7

Quarterback Danny Wuerffel and Florida crushed Georgia en route to winning a SEC championship and national championship.

    Oct. 31, 2009: No. 1 Florida 41, Georgia 17

Quarterback Tim Tebow and Florida dominated Georgia in Jacksonville, Florida. Florida went on to lose to Alabama in the 2009 SEC championship game.
