It’s been reported that the Cleveland Browns have decided to leave their current lakefront stadium to build a new dome in Brook Park.

No formal decision has been announced by the franchise as of yet, but is expected to be announced relatively soon. It was also announced that Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb was informed of this decision by the Haslam Sports Group.

The Browns are currently still in contract with their current stadium in downtown Cleveland until the 2028 season, but construction on the Brook Park dome is expected to begin shortly after the team’s official announcement.

The rumor of the move initially brought out some mixed reactions from the teams’ loyal fans. Some do not want to see the team leave their downtown area and are in favor of the current stadium situation. Others are very excited about the new opportunities this will bring to the franchise and the city.

The new dome is projected to be complete by the end of the Browns’ current stadium contract following the conclusion of the 2028 NFL season.

It’s still in Cleveland. Near the airport. They aren’t leaving. What a dumb headline. Just not in the downtown area.
