Shock waves were sent across the college football recruiting world Thursday night when one of the premier quarterback prospects in the 2026 class, Jared Curtis, announced that he would be decommitting from the Georgia Bulldogs to re-open his recruitment.

According to a report as well, the Alabama Crimson Tide appear to be one of the teams in the mix for the highly-touted prospect, and are joined by others such as Ohio State and South Carolina.

One of the top prospects in the 2026 class, Curtis is considered as the nation’s No. 6 overall player according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, as well as the No. 1 quarterback nationally. Curtis is also considered as the top player in the state of Tennessee for the cycle where he attends Nashville Christian School.

Curtis had previously been committed to the Bulldogs since March of 2024, and will now be one of the more sought-after high school prospects across the country going forward.
