Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love avoided a significant groin injury coming out of Sunday’s win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Packers also believe cornerback Jaire Alexander avoided a significant knee injury after testing on Monday.

Per Rob Demovsky of ESPN, an MRI on Alexander’s knee revealed no significant damage, and there’s still a chance he could play Sunday against the Detroit Lions.

Alexander appeared to be injured on the Packers’ final defensive play. He went to play a pass thrown into the end zone, but tight end Evan Engram leapt to make the catch for the touchdown and Alexander hobbled off on one leg behind the play.

Testing on Monday ruled out the worst-case scenario. Alexander, a two-time All-Pro, has two interceptions and is tied for the team lead in passes defensed through eight games in 2024.

Matt LaFleur had no update on Alexander when asked Monday. The Packers won’t practice or release an injury report until Wednesday.

In addition to the good news on Love and Alexander, Aaron Nagler of CheeseheadTV reported that safety Evan Williams has a chance to play against the Lions despite missing some of Sunday’s win with a hamstring injury, and Bill Huber of SI.com reported running back Josh Jacobs is good to go for Sunday after getting looked at for a lower leg issue late in the win.
