Utah Ski Resorts Joining Forces for Pride Parade

Officials at Solitude Mountain Resort, UT, shared with their following that Brighton brought out the big guns (or, in this case, big cat) for Solitude's recent Pride Parade on April 28th.

"Look for our float at the Utah Pride Parade this Sunday! We're teaming up with our Big Cottonwood Canyon neighbors, B righton Resort, to celebrate with Utah's LGBTQ+ community." Watch below.

We reached out to Jeff Carroll, Vice President of Marketing and Guest Experiences at Solitude, to ask him about Solitude's recent parade.

What were some reactions to the snowcat float in the parade?

"People love snowcats, both skiers and non-skiers. They're big machines with a high gee-whiz factor and seeing one out of its typically snowy element is fun. It gets lots of cheers."

How does Solitude's participation in the Utah Pride Parade reflect Solitude's mission statement?

"Solitude's mission is to provide a welcoming guest experience rooted in adventure and discovery."

"We use the word 'welcoming' in our mission statement very earnestly. The Utah Pride Parade allows us the opportunity to show our support to a community that is often marginalized and doesn't always feel welcomed."

What message did Solitude hope to send the community by participating?

"We want our community (guests, employees, and stakeholders) to know they are welcome at Solitude, and more importantly, to arrive as their true selves."

Why is this participation important to Solitude?

"Because it presents an opportunity to remind our community that we value their individuality."
