Utah's primary Election Day arrived Tuesday.

Why it matters: Eligible voters will help determine who advances to the November election in the races for the U.S. Senate and House, governor, attorney general and more.

What we're watching: Four GOP candidates Rep. John Curtis, Riverton Mayor Trent Staggs, former Utah House Speaker Brad Wilson and businessman Jason Walton — are vying to replace retiring Sen. Mitt Romney .

    • Incumbents Gov. Spencer Cox and Reps. Blake Moore and Celeste Maloy are facing GOP challengers in their respective primary races.

By the numbers: About 24% of mail-in ballots had been postmarked as of yesterday, Lt. Gov. Deidre M. Henderson said on X.

If you haven't cast your ballot yet, here's how to vote on Tuesday:

Don't mail it in. Ballots had to be postmarked by Monday, instead:

    • After filling out your mail ballot, take it to a drop box by 8pm. You can find drop box locations by searching your address on the state elections website .
    • Vote in person from 7am–8pm. Polling places are listed online , and you'll need to bring a valid ID .

Get signed up: If you're unregistered or haven't affiliated with a party, you can still register to vote Tuesday at a polling place and cast a provisional ballot.

Worth your time: If you believe your voting rights have been violated, contact your county clerk's office or the Utah Lt. Governor's Office at elections@utah.gov .
