CCSD’s Board of Education Holding A Public Hearing Before Work Session Meeting On Monday
A public hearing will be held before the Carroll Community School District’s Board of Education work session meeting on Monday starting at 6:00 p.m. The public hearing establishes the resolution for the district to enter into a bond agreement not to exceed six million dollars for a new maintenance shed for the transportation department. Earlier in July, the board members scaled back from the total $16 million proposed facility, which included cold storage for a 40-bus fleet, to just the base bid of an expanded maintenance facility, with an automatic wash-bay and updated offices for staff and training purposes. Following the public hearing will be the work session, with the focus being goal setting, as discussed in previous meetings with the Iowa Association of School Boards. The members will discuss goal setting for the district, ensuring the district strategic plan aligns with said goals and superintendent goals for the upcoming school year. The meeting will end with a discussion of a new cell phone policy and the wrap-around program update. The meeting is being held at the Carroll High School Media Center, with the public hearing beginning at 6:00 p.m. and the work session following. The meeting is open to the public, and everyone is welcome to attend.
