Severe weather delays start of Sidney demolition derby
SIDNEY - Demolition derby fans were rushed for cover as a severe warned storm approached the Cheyenne County Fairgrounds on Saturday evening. Gusty winds, heavy rain and cloud to ground lightning delayed the start of the Rumble on the Rails Demolition Derby. Officials tell News Channel Nebraska they're aiming for a start time of 8 p.m., depending on the weather. If there's a lightning strike within five miles of the fairgrounds, it would delay the derby another 30 minutes.

Man accused of shooting at occupied vehicle in Lincoln
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A man was arrested Thursday in a shooting on a Lincoln roadway. Michael Nunn, 49, of Lincoln is charged with three felonies: discharging a firearm near a vehicle, use of a firearm to commit a felony and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
