UTICA, N.Y. -- There are plenty of reasons for New Jersey Devils fans to be excited about their team's American Hockey League affiliate (AHL), the Utica Comets, this coming season.

For starters, Seamus Casey , 20, will turn pro and play his first season with the Comets along with forward Josh Filmon. They will join familiar faces like Nico Daws , Chase Stillman, and Topias Vilen.

On Wednesday, it was announced that the Comets will open the 2024-25 season at the Adirondack Bank Center on Friday, October 11th at 7:00 PM. They will host the Syracuse Crunch, the AHL affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Thursday afternoon, the full schedule was released.

Utica will play the Crunch 14 times this season, beginning with a home-and-home series to kick off the season. The Comets will play the Rochester Americans 12 times and the Laval Rocket and Belleville Senators eight times each. The club will only face the Cleveland Monsters and Toronto Marlies four times each during the regular season.

Comets forward Joseph Gambardella starred in the team's schedule release video, with Ryan Schmelzer and Brian Halonen, among others, making special appearances.
