Comets release 2024-25 schedule

UTICA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — One day after announcing their home opener against Syracuse, the Utica Comets announced the rest of their 2024-25 schedule on Thursday, July 11.

The Comets announced on Wednesday that they will start this year’s campaign against the Crunch on Friday, October 11 at the Adirondack Bank Center.

The team uploaded the schedule release on their Facebook page, and that video can be seen below:

In all, the Comets and Crunch will face each other 14 times this season. The teams will begin and end the season playing each other. The two teams will engage in a home-and-home series on Friday, April 18 in Utica and Saturday, April 19 at the Upstate Medical Arena in Syracuse to finish out the 2024 campaign.

The next most games will be with the Rochester Americans, with 12. Their first game with the Americans will be Saturday, October 12 at the Adirondack Bank Center.

The Comets will play the rest of the North Division in this manner:

• Toronto Marlies: four times, with the first game on Sunday, October 20 in Toronto.
• Laval Rocket: eight times. The first game with the Rocket will be at Place Bell on Friday, October 25.
• Belleville Senators: eight times. The Senators open up the CAA Arena with their first game against the Comets on Saturday, October 19.
• Cleveland Monsters: four times. Utica’s first game against the North Division champions will be on Friday, November 8 at the Adirondack Bank Center.

The Comets will play Atlantic Division teams 22 times this season. They will face off with the defending Calder Cup champion Hershey Bears in a home-and-home series on Saturday and Sunday, March 29 and 30. They will also play the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in another home-and-home series on Friday and Saturday, January 23 and 24.

As for the rest of the Atlantic Division, the Comets will play:

• The Lehigh Valley Phantoms twice: Saturday, November 9 in Allentown and Friday, January 3 in Utica.
• The Springfield Thunderbirds twice: Friday, April 4 in Utica and Friday, November 29 in Springfield.
• The Hartford Wolf Pack twice: Wednesday, January 15 in Utica and Saturday, March 1 in Hartford.
• The Providence Bruins six times. The first game between the two will be on Wednesday, November 27 at the Adirondack Bank Center.
• The Bridgeport Islanders twice: Wednesday, January 22 in Utica and Saturday, February 22 in Bridgeport.
• The Charlotte Checkers four times: two home games on Wednesday, March 19 and Saturday, March 22, two games at Bojangles Arena in Charlotte on April 12 and 13.

Other notable games on the schedule include a 10:45 am puck drop in Toronto on Wednesday, April 2 and a 1 pm start on Sunday, April 13 at the Bojangles Arena in Charlotte. Utica will also play a game at 3 pm on Sunday, March 2 at the Adirondack Bank Center when they face off with the Syracuse Crunch.
