New Hartford superintendent discusses his retirement, time in district, challenges
After working in eight school districts, six of them as superintendent, Cosimo Tangorra Jr. has had enough. He announced last month that he’ll retire March 4 after a little more than three years at the helm of the New Hartford Central School District. The district has launched a search for their next superintendent and plans to hire someone by February, giving the new super about four weeks to work with the Tangorra for a smoother transition.

Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) announced Wednesday, July 17, the start of construction on Sunrise Wind, an offshore wind farm about 30 miles off the coast of Montauk. The project is spearheaded by Ørsted, a global leader in renewable energy.
