Massena woman arrested for series of vehicle thefts in Cayuga County
A Massena woman was arrested for stealing multiple vehicles in Cayuga County Wednesday. On February 29, deputies with the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office responded to Lake Road in the Town of Genoa for a car in a ditch. Deputies quickly learned the vehicle was stolen out of the Town of Mentz. Witnesses report they saw a woman flee the scene shortly after crashing. While continuing the investigation, deputies were notified a homeowner just north of their location on Lake Road reported their home was broken into and their car was stolen.
Utica man sentenced to 10+ years prison for drug and firearm possession
UTICA, N.Y. — A man in Utica was sentenced to 130 months of federal prison for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm. Carlos Pena Uceta, 24, admitted to having more than five kilograms of cocaine purchased from New York City and transporting it back to the Northern District of New York. Pena Uceta also admitted to owning a 9mm ghost gun in a suitcase in his apartment.
Cicero Man Arrested Near Utica on Heroin/Fentanyl Charges
A suburban man was arrested Thursday by agents from the TRI-county Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team, or TRIDENT. Twenty-nine-year-old Alexander Bryant of Cicero was taken into custody north of Utica. Agents say he'd delivered a mixture of heroin and fentanyl to undercover agents multiple times. TRIDENT says that on one occasion Bryant delivered 48 bags containing 31 grams of the drug mixture. On Thursday, he allegedly delivered agents 56 bags containing 35 grams of the mixture.
