    NYSDOT has allocated millions for bridges, culverts. Which local bridges will get fixed?

    The state is giving Oneida County nearly $2.8 million to replace the Brewer Road bridge over the West Branch Fish Creek in the Town of Camden.

    That’s the most expensive project in Oneida County being funded under the latest, $484 million round of funding through the New York State Department of Transportation’s BRIDGE NY Program.

    That money will fund 216 projects being carried out by 137 local governments across the state.

    Here are the area bridges awarded funding in this round:

    Oneida County

    • $2.8 million to Oneida County to replace the Brewer Road bridge over West Branch Fish Creek in the Town of Camden.
    • $2.5 million to Oneida County to replace the Route 50 bridge over Stony Creek in the Town of Verona.
    • $2.4 million to the Town of Kirkland to replace the Norton Avenue/Route 15A bridge over Oriskany Creek.
    • $1.5 million to the Town of Verona to replace the Woodcreek Road culvert carrying a tributary to Wood Creek.
    • $0.9 million to the Town of Kirkland to replace the Craig Road culvert carrying Sherman Brook.

    Herkimer County

    • $1.6 million to the Town of German Flatts to replace the Pine Bush Road bridge over the tributary to Fulmer Creek.
    • $1.5 million to the Herkimer County Department of Highways to replace the Bleecker Street/Route 241 culvert carrying a tributary to the Mohawk River in the Town of Frankfort.
    • $1 million to Herkimer County for the Dyke Road/Route 37 bridge over Ferguson Creek in the Town of Frankfort.
    • $0.9 million to the Town of Herkimer to replace the Osborne Hill Road culvert carrying a tributary to the West Canada Creek.
    • $0.8 million to the Town of Herkimer for the Shells Bush Road bridge over West Canada Creek.
    • $0.8 million to Herkimer County for the Bleecker Street Extension/Route 241 bridge over Ferguson Creek in the Town of Frankfort.

    Madison County

    • $2.1 million to the Madison County Highway Department to replace the Creek Road/Route 29 bridge over Cowaselon Creek.
    • $1.5 million to the Town of DeRuyter to replace the Williams Road culvert carrying the middle branch of the Tioughnioga Creek.
    • $1.2 million to the Town of Lenox to replace the Lewis Street culvert carrying the Canastota Creek.

    The BRIDGE NY Program helps counties and municipalities rehabilitate or replace bridges and culverts to better enable them to withstand extreme weather and the impacts of climate change.
