The Bank of Utica was robbed Friday morning and the Utica Police Department is asking anyone for information to come forward.

According to Utica Police Department Spokesman Lt. Michael Curley of the Utica Police Department, a masked man entered the Bank of Utica, located at 222 Genesee Street, a little after 9 a.m. and approached the clerk.

Curley said the man was unarmed.

This masked man demanded money from the clerk, Curley said, and was provided with “...an undisclosed sum.”

“He subsequently fled, and the Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division is currently investigating and speaking with bank employees and locating surveillance video in and around the area,” Curley said.

Nobody at the Bank of Utica was harmed.

Those with information can make an anonymous tip at 315-223-3510.
