    Saturday football roundup: Northstars top Proctor; Dolgville wins in Westmoreland

    UTICA -- Miy'Jon McDowell Reid and Anthony Johnson combined for five Cicero-North Syracuse touchdowns in the Northstars' 35-28 win over the Proctor Raiders Saturday in Utica.

    McDowell Reid scored three touchdowns, and Johnson had two touchdowns and went over 1,000 rushing yards for the season for the Northstars (4-2, 2-2 AA-1) who won their third consecutive game.

    Proctor (2-4, 1-3 AA-1) had scored first, taking a 6-0 lead when Dominique Cook Jr returned an interception 80 yards for a touchdown. Johnson and McDowell each had a touchdown before Proctor struck again with Jai Phillips returning the kickoff following McDowell's first touchdown for one of his own.

    McDowell scored again, capping a 21-12 first quarter, and Johnson, coming off a 410-yard, 7-touchdown game against Corning-Painted Post, ran for his 14th touchdown of the season before halftime.

    Jaadiel Romero and Kamal Cisson ran for Proctor touchdowns in the second half. Romero's 4-yard run in the third quarter followed a fumble recovery in Cicero-North Syracuse territory and pulled the Raiders within eight points.

    The third touchdown run by McDowell extended the lead for the Northstars. Cisson scored on a 6-yard run and ran for the conversion with 1:34 remaining in the game. The Raiders attempted an onside kick and the Northstars gained possession to run out the clock.

    Cisson led Proctor with 76 rushing yards.

    Proctor plays at Baldwinsville Friday.

    Dolgeville 59, Westmoreland/Oriskany 20

    WESTMORELAND -- Dolgeville's unbeaten Blue Devils scored 36 points in the first quarter Saturday and won 59-20 on the road over Westmoreland/Oriskany.

    Dolgeville (5-0, 2-0 D East) ended the first quarter with a touchdown on a 49-yard pass from Tim Gomez to Jacob Moore on the final play. Logan Comstock added the extra point for a 36-6 lead, then kicked off to start the second quarter. The Blue Devils pinned the Bulldogs on their 1-yard line on the kickoff, and recorded a safety on the next play.

    Trever Borst had the first two touchdowns for Dolgeville and finished with three along with 101 rushing yards on six carries. Bryce Mosher and Gomez added touchdown runs covering 67 and 46 yards in the first quarter - Borst's longest was 46 - and Grayson Eggleston and Caleb Herringshaw each added a touchdown in the second half.

    Dylan Williams threw three touchdown passes for Westmoreland/Oriskany (1-5, 0-2 D East), two to Cameron Rautenstrauch and on to Austin Welker.

    Gomez passed for 103 yards and ran for 60. Herringshaw ran for 73 yards on five carries, and Mosher's touchdown came on his lone run in the game.

    Dolgeville plays its final regular season home game Friday against Pulaski. Westmoreland/Oriskany hosts Herkimer Saturday.
