Las Cruces prison's phone system restored after three-day outage, official confirms

Las Cruces man arrested after leaving toddler in car to buy drugs, police say
LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KFOX14/CBS4) — Las Cruces police arrested a 24-year-old man for allegedly leaving his two-year-old son in a running vehicle to buy drugs Saturday morning. According to the Las Cruces Police Department, Jacob Lopez was arrested and charged with child abuse and two counts of possession of a controlled substance after police received a 911 call from a witness who said Lopez had left his son unattended while he went into a room at the Plaza Suites, at 301 E. University Avenue, known for drug trafficking.
