Alaska Airlines recently announced that they are offering 18 new, non-stop flights to ski destinations across North America to make traveling to ski resorts easier than ever before.

    Watch their announcement video below.

As the airline noted, most of these destinations are aimed at adventure travel for people looking to surf or ski in exotic locales.

Specifically, for skiers, the airline service announced its first-ever service to Vail, Colorado from San Diego and Seattle.

Vail, Colorado is near Vail Ski Resort, A-Basin, Breckenridge, Keystone, Beaver Creek, Copper Mountain, and more.

There will also be nonstop service from Los Angeles to Kelowna for central British Columbia’s ski resorts, including Whistler Blackcomb, Big White, Revelstoke, and Kicking Horse; nonstop service from San Diego to Reno for easy access to ski resorts in Lake Tahoe, including Palisades Tahoe, Heavenly, Northstar, Diamond Peak, Mount Rose, and Homewood, to name a few; and nonstop service from Boise to Bozeman, MT.

Bozeman offers access to Bridger Bowl, Big Sky, Showdown Mountain, Great Divide Ski Area, and Red Lodge Mountain, to name a few.

Although non-stop flights from Southern California to Reno existed with other airlines, for those who primarily use Alaska Airlines (for points or other convenience reasons) this is a big deal.

Tickets were just released on July 10th. It may be hard to think about flying to snowy locales right now with summer in full swing, but just wait until November comes around.
