Hundreds of people attended the Big Boyz Ferris Avenue Reunion BBQ at Gardella Park in White Plains Saturday. The cookout had free food, music, and more. SOMERS, N.Y. - Mrs. Virginia Flood, a resident of Heritage Hills for 47 years, celebrated her 100th birthday on Sunday, July 7, with family and friends at a brunch at Wee Burn Country Club in Darien, CT. Also known as Gee Gee or Ginnie, Mrs. Flood (nee Bernene) was raised in Bedford. She was an administrative assistant to the president of Northern Westchester Hospital for 25 years and has also been a member of Twigs, served on the Board of the VNA of Hudson Valley, and was Secretary of the Heritage Hills Condo Board. Adorable baby joey finally comes out of its mom’s pouch at the Bronx Zoo
A rare tree kangaroo born in The Bronx at the end of December has finally come out of the marsupial pouch. The tiny Matschie’s tree kangaroo, considered endangered by International Union for Conservation of Nature since 1996, can be seen poking its head out of its mother’s pouch in a post by the Bronx Zoo on X. At birth, the tree kangaroo joey is the size of a jellybean, and the majority of its physical development occurs in the mother’s pouch. Joeys don’t emerge fully from the pouch for about seven months, the zoo said, and returns to it frequently to nurse....
