A Wichita man is in custody after an 11-month-old baby is found in a canal near a Wichita interstate. Authorities in Sedgwick County say Vincent James Perez has been arrested in connection to a toddler found wandering alone in a canal near I-135 and Pawnee Street yesterday afternoon. The child was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation after being spotted by a driver. Vickie Wyant says she thought the child was a doll until she saw it move.
