WICHITA, Kan. – ESPN Wichita 92.3 has released the finalists for their Honorary ESPYs Awards, presented by UBuildIt Wichita and INTRUST Bank. Alyvia Owens has been named a finalist for Small College Female Athlete of the Year after helping lead the Lady Bluejays to the 2024 Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) regular season title in Women's Basketball, the 2024 KCAC Women's Basketball tournament title, and a berth in the 2024 NAIA Women's Basketball tournament. Owens led the Bluejays in scoring, averaging 11.6 points per game, while shooting an incredible 52.1% from the field and 33.3% from three-point range. Owens brought in 4.7 boards per game and snagged 1.7 steals in addition to her performance on offense.

WEATHER: Storm chances decreased, risk outlook eliminated for July 4
Chances of overall thunderstorm activity and severe weather have declined as the holiday has progressed. Early Thursday, there was a moderate chance of storms and a marginal severe weather risk for wind. As of early afternoon, the overall risk had been reduced to slight, with isolated to widely scattered heavy rainfall possible. As was the case in the early-morning hours, the projected time for rainfall remains 4-8 pm.
