UTRGV organization hosts pro-Palestinian rally on campus

EDINBURG, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — Student organizers and advocates hosted a pro-Palestinian rally at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley on Thursday.

The Rio Grande Valley Youth Democratic Socialists of America hosted the event in response to the ongoing violence and crisis in Palestine.

Advocates participated in the rally holding Palestinian flags and banners that say “Free Palestine” while chanting “Disclose, divest, we will not stop, we will not rest.”

A social media post by the organizers states they “demand the UT System disclose and divest from Israel and its genocide and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.”

Members and advocates with the RGV Youth Democratic Socialists of America expressed their  support with other protests that continue to escalate at colleges and universities across the nation.

The demonstration was held at the UTRGV Edinburg Quad.
