BROWNSVILLE, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — The Brownsville Metro wants your input on advances that could be made to its public transportation as well as a proposed increase in bus tickets.

The Brownsville Metro is restructuring its fare system and proposing a fare increase.

In an effort to allow the public to voice their opinions on the propositions, the city of Brownsville is hosting a public meeting from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the La Plaza Terminal.

The proposed fare increases would be as follows:

Additionally, the city has created a survey for locals who use the transportation to fill out. In the survey, riders will be asked questions, such as, how frequently they use the metro services and if they consider a $2 fare to be within budget for transportation.

Really ,increase the bus fare ? Screwing the poor that have no transportation and have to rely on the bus system . Did the city already waste the millions of dollars Elon musk donated to you all?? I don't see better streets or new buildings going up just one old one being renovated downtown . Doubt it all going into one building . Fare should be reasonable and free for the disabled and senior citizens . I constantly see senior citizens walking home with lots if bags from heb on central Blvd. That's sad to see ,but can't help them because we don't know their status in our country .
