Two IDEA Public Schools welcome first graduating class

PHARR, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — IDEA Public Schools is welcoming thousands of students for the first day of school and celebrating the first graduating class at two Rio Grande Valley campuses.

IDEA Owassa College Preparatory and IDEA Elsa College Preparatory schools are honoring their senior class for making history this 2024-2025 school year.

Both campuses opened in 2018 offering K-2 and 6th grade.

Each year, both campuses added a grade level each year until they were fully scaled, serving K-12th grade.

To honor the first senior class, IDEA Owassa will host a special Senior Crown Decorating Workshop, Class Picture and Senior Parade for the Class of 2025 on the first day of school.

“We are beyond excited to welcome all of our students to school as we start a new academic year,” says Jill Dominguez, Area Superintendent of IDEA Public Schools. “Our goal at IDEA Public Schools is to pave the way and ensure that we are preparing each and every one of our students for success in college and beyond.”

This school year, IDEA Owassa will serve roughly 750 senior students.

In total, IDEA Public Schools is welcoming approximately 34,000 students at its 51 schools across the Rio Grande Valley.

The first day of school for IDEA Public School students is Thursday, August 15.
