    Non-profit to host book sale to support Harlingen Public Library

    HARLINGEN, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — A local non-profit group is calling all book lovers to join an upcoming book sale in support of the Harlingen Public Library.

    The Harlingen Friends of the Library is hosting the book sale to help fund the Harlingen Public Library programs and services.

    “We have a lot of books that are in our office or stored back there that it takes us a long time to get them out,” said Lynne Lerberg, member of Harlingen Friends of the Library. “We want people to see them. So, when we have a book sale, we bring everything out.”

    A wide variety of gently books will be half-priced including fiction, non-fiction, cookbooks, children’s books and more.

    Hardcover books will be priced at $1 and large paperbacks will be 50 cents. Small paperback and children’s books will be 25 cents.

    The two-day sale will be held inside the Harlingen Public Library bookstore from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, August 24.

    The event will continue from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, August 25.

    All proceeds from the upcoming book sale will go to the Harlingen Public Library.
