    Valley departments react to Dallas police officer killed

    HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Local police departments are sharing their condolences after a Dallas Police Officer died in the line of duty last night.

    Just before 12:30 a.m. Friday, the Dallas Police Department issued a statement on X, formerly known as twitter, stating that the department was investigating an officer-involved shooting.

    At 3:15 a.m. the police department spoke to media.

    At 11:13 a.m. they announced an officer was killed and others were injured at the 900 block of East Ledbetter Drive.

    “Our hearts are with the Dallas Police Department during this difficult time,” the Alton Police Department stated on social media. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the officers that were wounded, the families, and the entire Dallas Police Department.”

    The Mission Police Department posted on Facebook that their prayers are with the Dallas Police Department.
