ACU bus crashes in Lubbock: Student, driver, coaches injured

According to Lubbock Police at 11:33 p.m. last night, officers were directing traffic at the intersection of the Marsha Sharp Freeway and University Avenue. At that time, eastbound traffic, including an Abilene Christian University bus, was passing through the intersection. Parker Young, 19, was driving south on University Avenue when he disregarded the traffic directions and collided with the bus, causing it to crash into another vehicle in the left turn lane attempting to head north.

Four individuals on the bus were taken to University Medical Center with moderate injuries while Young was transported to the Lubbock County Detention Center and charged with DWI.
