Suspects arrested, arraigned in connection to Edinburg teen shooting

SANTA ROSA ( ValleyCentral ) — Law enforcement conducted a search and arrest warrant on two suspects involved in a Edinburg shooting that left a 14-year-old girl hospitalized .

The two suspects were arraigned Friday for their involvement in the shooting.

Edinburg police identified 23-year-old Issac Medrano as the shooter in this case.

Medrano recieved a total bond $225,000 on charges of aggravated assault and deadly conduct.

The second suspect, Martin Moreno, was arraigned on charges of aggravated assault, deadly conduct and evading arrest.

Moreno’s bond is set at $245,000.

Both suspects were arrested Thursday during a raid in Santa Rosa on the intersection of Alberto Anzaldua Street and North 11th Street.

Santa Rosa police, Edinburg police, SWAT and U.S. Marshals were at the scene to serve the warrants.

Both suspects were at large for a shooting that happened at 3:30 a.m. Thursday, August 29 on the 2100 block of Carlos Drive in Edinburg.

Edinburg police say the shooting occurred after a verbal altercation that prompted Medrano and the Moreno to leave the scene temporarily.

Medrano allegedly fired shots at the teen’s front door which struck her lower back.

The teen girl was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
