LA FERIA, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — Cameron County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a woman accused of stealing a truck.

At 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, deputies were dispatched to the 27000 block of Rabb Rd. about a theft of a motor vehicle.

When deputies arrived they made contact with the victim who wanted to file a report over her 2022 GMC Sierra being taken without her consent.

The victim reported getting an email about the truck alarm being activated. Upon checking for the truck, she noticed it was taken from her driveway.

Deputies then encountered the stolen truck at the Gateway International Bridge. Deputies stopped the truck and began their interview of the female driver who was identified as Irma Jimenez, according to a release.

Jimenez could not provide a valid driver’s license or proof of ownership of the truck. Deputies detained Jimenez for further investigation into the theft.

Deputies also observed the harness to the horn was disconnected and Jimenez could not provide the keys to the truck.

During an interview, Jimenez told investigators she was going to cross the truck into Mexico. She stated she had a gut feeling the truck was stolen and still agreed to cross it.

Investigators observed damage to the ignition switch, horn, and GPS were disconnected.

Jimenez was charged with theft of a motor vehicle and booked into the Carrizales Rucker Detention Center.
