    Film ‘American Patriot: The First Defender 1918’ debutes in Edinburg

    HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Antonio Villarreal, lead actor and Quint Rogers, the director, producer, and writer, along with David Rodriguez, the associate producer discussed their film “American Patriot: The First Defender 1918.”

    The film takes place during World War I and is inspired by true events. It was filmed in the Rio Grande Valley and features authentic resources such as planes and tanks.

    The team emphasizes the importance of community and resilience in filmmaking, which took a year to complete. The movie’s premiere is set for Saturday, Sept. 7 at the Edinburg Municipal Auditorium.

    With a 1918 theme attendees are encouraged to dress in 1920s or 30s attire. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the film begins at 7 p.m.

    Tickets are $10, and kids 12 and under are free as well as veterans.
