    McAllen police search for man who allegedly stole money during home purchase

    McALLEN, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — The McAllen Police Department is searching for a man accused of stealing money during a home purchase.

    Authorities issued a warrant of arrest for Sergio Efrain Zamora Jr., 44, on allegations of theft.

    The case opened after McAllen police received a report of money theft during a home purchase in February 2024, according to a news release.

    McAllen police say the home purchase process was allegedly used to “deprive the victim of his money,” further alleging the victim lost over $30,000.

    Zamora is described as five feet, five inches tall, 190 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

    Anyone with information on Zamora’s whereabouts is asked to contact the McAllen Crime Stoppers at (956) 687-8477.
