    Over $700k worth of cocaine seized at Roma Port of Entry

    ROMA, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — Over $700,000 worth of cocaine was seized at the Roma Port of Entry.

    On Sept. 16, Customs and Border Patrol officers at the Falcon Dam International Bridge referred a 2024 MG5 to a secondary inspection, according to a news release from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

    During the inspection, officers discovered 22 packages containing nearly 55 pounds of alleged cocaine within the vehicle. The cocaine had a street value of $730,012, according to the release.

    CBP officers seized the narcotics. The Starr County High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area officers arrested the driver and initiated a criminal investigation.
