    Pharr police officer hit by car, released from hospital

    PHARR, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — A Pharr police officer has been released from the hospital after being struck by a car Friday morning.

    According to Pharr Police Chief Juan Gonzalez the officer was hit around 8 a.m. while directing traffic at the intersection of Jackson and Moore Roads.

    The driver of a gray Ford Mustang struck the officer as he entered the intersection and pulled over.

    The officer was taken to an area hospital for leg pain and was later released, according to Chief Gonzalez.
