Team of the Week: Week 4

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Voting is now open for the Team of the Week, Week 4 poll.

The nominees for Week 4 are Pace, Santa Rosa and PSJA High School.

It’s time for you at home to decide: which team is deserving of Team of the Week?

​Last week PSJA outscored Los Fresnos 33-7 in the second half to pick up the 40-24 win. Quarterback Myles Lopez accounted for six passing touchdowns. Four of those to receiver Ryan Vallejo. They handed the Falcons their first loss of the season.

Heading down to Brownsville, it was an unexpected battle of unbeaten with Pace vs. Economedes. The Vikings got a 31-17 win, improving to 4-0 for the first time since 2011.
Pace also hoping to snap its five-year postseason drought in 2024.

Finally, it’s been about 20 years since the Santa Rosa football program started 4-0. With the help of Riley Fonseca’s dual-threat ability, a 27-7 victory over Porter makes 4-0 a reality. The Warriors now get set for district play.

Voting for the poll ends at 10 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25.
