When deputies arrived, a man told them he heard someone outside of his residence who attempted to open his front door.

He said when he opened the door, he noticed an unknown woman, later identified as Mariah Cheyanne Becks, 23, standing on his front porch with a metal wrench in her hand, according to documents.

He said he felt threatened when Becks stood in a “fighting stance” and threatened him before walking off his porch and onto the roadway.

Sheriff’s deputies later located Becks down the street with the wrench in her hand.

She was placed under arrest without incident and taken to the Carrizales-Rucker Detention Center and booked for assault.

Brownsville police have a habit of arresting people like her and letting the judicial system figure out their sentences. I remember a black female arrested for trespassing on XSpace and then they piled up other charges. Those people need mental health help, but it's easier just to jail them.

She needs to stay in jail. She can fight in there all the time.
