Day 2 of El Gallito trial underway

HARLINGEN, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — Testimony resumed Wednesday morning in day two of the murder trial against a man accused of killing his uncle, a well-known Harlingen attorney.

Solomon Campos Jr. is facing a capital murder charge in the death of Ernesto Gonzalez, who first went missing in 2017.

This morning Alicia Campos was back on the stand where she was cross examined by Campos’ defense attorney.

Alicia is the mother of the defendant and the sister of the victim. During testimony, she was asked to describe an assault that reportedly happened the month before her brother, also known as El Gallito, disappeared.

The assault was allegedly committed by the missing man’s family and the witness.

Campos’ defense attorney has been questioning any involvement the Gonzalez family may have had in El Gallito’s death.
