RGV boxer fights for WWBO Texas Title at SPI

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Harlingen boxer Reggie Martinez is preparing for a fight to be held at the South Padre Island Convention Center.

Martinez will fight Jonathan Segundo for the WWBO Texas Title on Oct. 19. He discussed his preparation with ValleyCentral’s Danielle Banda.

“I’m training with Rusta Salazar at KO Boxing Academy, and he’s preparing me very well. I’m doing a lot of mitt work, a lot of running. I’m also training with my dad, and he’s my conditioning coach and nutritionist. So all around my camp is going good,” said Martinez.

Martinez emphasized his focus on winning and highlighted his role as a mentor to younger boxers, inspiring them as he was inspired by local boxing legends.

Martinez invited his fans to the event at the South Padre Island Convention Center on Saturday, Oct. 19.
