PORT ISABEL, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — A main road in Port Isabel will undergo paving operations starting next week, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

Starting September 30, road crews will be updating State Highway 100 between State Highway 48 and the Queen Isabella Memorial Causeway.

Road crews will be adding new pavement and markings at between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday.

The project is expected to be completed by November 1, according to TxDOT.

Lane reductions are expected for the duration of this project. TxDOT asks all drivers to avoid parking on the shoulder of State Highway 100 while crews are present.
