HCSO: Man arrested for involvement in auto theft

DONNA, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — A man was arrested after being taken in for questioning in an auto theft investigation, the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Donna resident, 35-year-old, Victor Manuel Avila was arrested on Friday for his involvement in a recent auto theft.

On Thursday, HSCO investigators issued a search warrant on a home, located at the 17000 block of J Bar Drive in rural Donna.

Deputies found a stolen vehicle and two catalytic converters at the residence. Avila and a woman were taken in for questioning.

The woman was later released and Avila was arrested, deputies say. He was arraigned on a charge of theft and issued a bond of $3,000.

Avila was booked into the Hidalgo County Jail.
