MISSION, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — Band students worked hard to raise money for their upcoming competitions, and in return, they will have the chance to pie their director in the face.

The Veterans Memorial High School Band students were raising money for upcoming competitions and expenses, and the students who sold the most of Milo’s Kettle Corn could pick a band director to throw a pie and his or her face at the end of the fundraiser.

“I would think, just based on talking to them, they are more excited to watch me get hit in the face than they are to get a gift card,” said Gabriel Molina, band director for Veterans Memorial High School Band. ” I think it’s a little more rewarding in the long run and I’d like for them to look back on these days.”

Kathy Keyes, secretary of the VMHS Band Boosters, said 25 students were able to pie their director in the face.
