    Hidalgo County PCT 3 to break ground on 5K Mansion Linear Park Trail

    MISSION, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — Hidalgo County Precinct 3 has announced the groundbreaking of the much-anticipated 5K Mansion Linear Park Trail.

    According to the precinct’s news release, the project aims to enhance the health and wellness of the community through the creation of a 3.1-mile bicycle and pedestrian trail.

    Other project highlights include concrete for durability and safety, a closed-loop design, a HAWK signalized crossing system at key intersections, pavement markings to ensure safety for both pedestrians and cyclists and wheelchair accessibility.

    The expected completion date is scheduled for May 2025 with a projected cost of $2.4 million, the precinct announced.

    The groundbreaking ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. Oct. 3 at the Precinct 3 Administration Office, located at 724 N. Breyfogle Rd. in Mission.
