MISSION, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — First responders in Precinct 3 were treated with a special luncheon by Hidalgo County Precinct 3 Commissioner Everardo Villarreal.

The luncheon welcomed multiple agencies across Precinct 3 including police, fire and EMS personnel.

Villarreal hosted the luncheon at Ranch House Burgers in Mission as a way to extend his thanks to first responders.

“This is just a small way of showing that we appreciate them and we want to let them know that we’re here to support them in anything that they need,” Villarreal said.

Villarreal started hosting the luncheon after he was elected and took office as commissioner in 2021.

“I do them once a year, ever since I got elected. This is my third year doing this,” Villarreal said. “It just feels great to see so many of our friends that serve us and just to talk to them and let them know that that we appreciate their hard work and sacrifice to our community.”

Precinct 3 serves western Hidalgo County which includes Mission, Alton, Palmhurst, Palmview, Penitas, La Joya and Sullivan City.
